In school, Melissa interned at an exclusive Paul Mitchell Salon, where she began to learn the basics of a functioning salon. After graduating beauty school, she continued her education attending classes while she worked at The Barber's Family Hairstyling. This was a great experience as she learned to do high quality hair, in a fast paced salon.
As Melissa's experience and knowledge of the beauty industry grew, she decided it was time to create a unique salon in the Wausau area where clients can receive high end quality services in a welcoming environment. Established in Sept of 2014.
The salon experienced quarterly education from Platform Hairstylists across the world. Thru the years, Melissa’s education grew becoming highly skilled in Cuts, Coloring & Hair Extensions. She became an Hair Extensionist in 2016 and after few years was trained as an educator for her favorite hair extension line, PerfessTress. During Melissa Marie’s blooming cosmetology career she decided incorporate more avenues of beauty she was passionate about. That’s when Maribella Beauty came into play. Mel’s favorite cosmetic line! “This line gives high performance results for all ages of skin, this is rare to find!” Melissa attends yearly conferences in Kansas City, MO for the makeup line. Staying up to date on the latest trends and marking ideas is so important to her.
During the height of Melissa’s career she received some life changing news in June of 2020. That is when Melissa was diagnosed with Stage III Breast Cancer. While she was receiving treatment, she continued the business during the covid pandemic. Having cancer opened Melissa’s eyes to a whole world of women who needed special attention. Women who suffer from health issues that need their attention to meet their beauty goals. By January of 2022, Melissa then brought in a Wig line to help women feel good about themselves while suffering from hair loss.
